Daniel Nishina Sensei

5th Dan Aikikai

Daniel Nishina Sensei, 5th Dan Aikikai, relocated to Portland in October 2019 after many years in Japan, practicing at Aikikai Hombu Dojo and leading his own group, Aikido Yoshikaze. Starting his Aikido journey at age 15 in the Shingu lineage in the US, Nishina Sensei has been influenced by, among others, Saotome and Ikeda shihan. Nishina Sensei first encountered Endo Seishiro Shihan in 1996, and formally became a deshi in 2009. Nishina Sensei strives for Aikido that is broad, light, and sharp.
